West Wing - Across the patio on ground floor. Self contained wing with kitchenette, two twin bedded rooms, with en suite bathrooms, beautifully decorated in Spanish blue washed colours. Situated above garage and enjoying fabulous views.

Basement below West Wing - double garage with additional lavatory. French doors open onto the lawn which leads down to Swimming Pool.

Swimming Pool - 12m x 8m kidney shaped, surrounded by terracotta tiles and lawn. Sunbeds and shady sitting area. Outdoor shower.

Property is a private 9 acre plot. The house is at the top of the slope with gardens and lawns around, below is a field sometimes occupied by sheep. Sweeping views to the Parc Alcornales and down the Guadiaro valley with Gibraltar and the Rif Mountains in the distance.

Amenities - San Pablo de Buceite is 5kms away for all food requirements, bar, restaurants, petrol station and railway station. Gaucin is 8kms with more shops, bars, restaurants, art galleries, etc.

Golf - Costa del Sol - Costa del Golf! 40 minutes from many courses at Sotogrande, Valderama, San Roque and Estepona. New golf course under construction between San Pablo de Buceite and Jimena de la Frontera.

Tennis, Sailing, Polo - all available on the Coast just 30 minutes drive. Public tennis courts in Gaucin.

Kite Surfing, Wind Surfing and Ferry to Morocco - Tarifa beyond Algeciras.

Yeguada de la Cartuja, an Andalusian stud farm near Jerez de la Frontera is well worth the drive (1hr 30mins). The performance is only on Saturdays starting at 11am.

Location - Cortijo El Moran is situated on the A409 between Gaucin and San Pablo de Buceite. Approx 2 hours from Malaga Airport. Approx 1 hour from Gibraltar airport.

Outside:

The 9 acre grounds around the house add to the sense of privacy. Manicured gardens lead down to a 12m kidney shaped swimming pool which enjoys views out over the rolling Guadiaro valley, famous for its orange groves. Sunbathing and relaxing by the pool underneath the shade of a Spanish acorn tree, is easy on our sun loungers, whilst just above the pool there is a picnic/lunch table under a shady tree. There is also an outside shower and a Weber BBQ.

Its only half an hour to the beach and numerous options for good golf courses along the Costa del Sol. 15 mins to Gaucin, or 10 mins to San Pablo, where shopping can be done. 47km to Ronda, with its famous bull ring is a wonderful town to visit, whilst trips further afield take you through the historical white villages of Andalucia with their interesting forts and castles. Jimena de la Fontera lies in the valley below the house and is a 15-20 min drive away. Just 25 minutes away lies the sandy mediterranean beach at Estepona.

In Gaucin, La Fuente restaurant serves up culinary marvels, whislt Diana Paget lives on the next door estate and cooks up a daily feast. Gaucin and San Pablo (the nearest villages) both have banks. There is riding nearby, as well as golf.

Beach:

Just 25 minutes away lies the sandy mediterranean beach at Estepona. Slightly further away is the wind and kite surfind mecca of Tarifa, where good beaches and ocean currents make a water sports heaven. Driving times to other destinations on the beach vary, but in general the coast is a mere half hour drive.

The ski resort of Sierra Nevada is a 4 hour drive from El Moran.

Guests who are interested in the history of Southern Spain, and in particular the Moorish influence in Andalucia, will find that the area yields many a historical treasure, including the Castellar at Guacin, and the fort at Jimena de la Fontera. For the gourmand, this region is famous for its sherry and Iberian acorn-fed pork, which are best sampled in Jimena de la Fontera.
