In an earlier life Sa Capella was the home of the San Cayetano Monks, who chose this wonderful location for a life of prayer and reflection in 1700. A feeling of true tranquility remains to this day.During the 1960's the house became a popular meeting place for aristocrats, politicians, actors and poets from all over the world. Some of its many guests include the Queen of Holland, the King of Bulgaria and the artist Miro. The poet Robert Graves and composer John Barry were amongst Sa Capella's famous visitors.

On the first Sunday of September the patron saint festivities of Santa Margalida are celebrated with a colourful evening procession through the village.
Sa Capella is situated in a place of special archeological interest, in fact, within the local area there are one hundred and fifty sites of interest to be found, such as the Necropolis of Son Real, a spectacular site to visit. Only ten kms away is the Parc Natural De S'albufera, a protected area and home to more than sixty species of birds and is a wonderful place to explore and enjoy this beautiful area.
